South Carolina Real Estate: One of the most crucial aspects of being able to sell a house in today’s market conditions is successful home staging, when potential buyers come to view the house for the first time. If they are suitably impressed by the house the first time around, chances are they will come back for a second viewing and take the process of home sale to the next stage. However, most home sellers worry about having to spend a fortune of renovating their homes in order to impress their potential home buyers. This, however, is far from true. Read on to find out more.
When people think of staging their home, they begin worrying about the exorbitant amount of money it would cost them to renovate their homes. While it is true that your home should look at its best, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to spend a fortune on creating that effect. You can create an impressive environment around your house for a lot less than you think.
Firstly, think repair instead of renovate. Take a hard look at every part of your house for things that look like they need fixing. Then start thinking of ways to repair them, not replace them. For instance, an unhinged door can be re-hinged, a dirty carpet can be cleaned, a torn curtain can be salvaged by interesting and creative use of lace, upholstery can be dry cleaned, etc. Stop worrying about all the expense you would have incurred, start thinking about how much you can save by doing a lot of the work yourself- like painting your own house instead of hiring painters, cleaning and clearing your own garden and pruning your own trees instead of calling a tree specialist. No doubt it will take a little time and effort on your behalf, but you will save tons in the bargain.
As far as making the house look attractive and inviting as opposed to just clean and well kept, add a few potted plants, bouquet of flowers from your own garden and scented candles in strategic places. Buy incense sticks to fill the house with appealing fragrances, play soft melodic music to ease the mood of the visitors and light up the house to make it look warm and cheerful. When potential buyers come to the house, the easy and relaxed air will take them by surprise.
